Thank you for an interesting lot of photos on the truffle market,I once bought a small truffle in oil and put it into scrambled eggs,you mentioned mashed potatoes which if I ever have the opportunity to buy a fresh one sounds delish

Hello Suzanne and welcome to Aussie in France. If you use it in mashed potatoes, you must be careful not to them heat them up again or you’ll destroy the taste of the truffle.
Chris and Annie caught it too, so only JM and Simon escaped with minor symptoms.
The difference between the before and after Christmas markets was interesting. Apparently the before Christmas prices of truffles are higher, but the after Christmas quality is better. Obviously only the real enthusiasts go after Christmas, hence the lack of signage — they all know where it is and go every year.

Well, we can consider that we are real enthusiasts. Even so, I think a couple of signs would be helpful.
