A post well worth waiting for. What a wonderful year you have had. Congratulations on your retirement. I can see many hours will be spent in your wonderful garden.

I must go back and read your other posts. I have only been an intermittent reader due to the busyness of our own lives but enjoyed it very much. My husband & I have done a number of long cycle trips in our own over the last decade in France & Germany primarily but some in nearby countries including one trip that ended in Budapest. It is our favorite mode of travel and we hope to plan another one soon, We stayed in Blois & at the hotel in the grounds of Chambord, Glad to know about your rental in case we come that way again. We loved cycling the Loire. And if you would ever like an exchange on the west coast of BC, Canada, we have a lovely house and cottage on 3 1/2 acres on one of the Gulf Islands – and are big gardeners. I also do blogs of our cycle trips. Our last one is called “One River, Two Bikes, Three Countries” about our trip in 2017 along the Moselle from source to confluence at Koblenz. You can find it at: https://bikeiveurope.travellerspoint.com/toc/, I have other trips saved as blogs from a platform that closed. Anyway always fun to connect with other likeminded travellers – and we have Aussie family and just returned from a month there & in Tasswhich i have blogged about at https://summerinwinter.travellerspoint.com/toc/. All the best. Keep up the writing and we will keep up the reading!

Hi Jennifer – thanks for commenting. It is always great to find like-minded travelers. Plus the Australian connection! If we ever go to Canada I’ll let you know. And I’ll check out your 2017 trip which sounds very similar to ours.
