Fraussie, my tip for painting ( from Imre the Hungarian Master Craftsman) is ‘disposable latex gloves’. It just takes one small task off the list of clean up chores but your hands end up squeaky clean…And, wipe/paint out all the excess paint off onto sheets of newpaper.
Good luck it will look superb and be incredibly satisfying once done.
