Did you consider the Night Watchman Tour in Rothenburg? It really is quite fun.

No, we didn’t know about it. Next time! This is the worst case of wi-fi yet. I am sitting at the bottom of the staircase leading up to the second floor, half-way down the corridor from our bedroom!

Even with the hotel issues it looks pleasant.
