Thanks for sharing your visit. I really loved your photos of the some of the Italian Impressionists’ paintings. How wonderful they would be to see in real life. I’m not likely to be in Madrid or Paris in the near future but Jane and Majella might get to see them.
Oooh – so excited that you posted this! We are going to be in Paris in a couple of weeks and I have never been to this museum. Something new has just been added to our itinerary. 🙂

I’m still sad that I didn’t get to see L’Orangerie when I was there in March.

I just got back from Paris and visited all the required museums ( Versailles, Lourve, D’Orsay)
I came to l’Orangerie and of all the art I saw, loved the exhibition of The Macchiaioili
best. I don’t know if it was the way the pictures were lit but I couldn’t believe the life in each of the paintings. I totally enjoyed them and looking back, I wish I had spent much more time there.
Please don’t miss this.

I’m so glad you found it! It is so different from any other art I have seen. I am definitely going back before it finishes.
[…] the places you want to see. The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and Sainte Chapelle, the Louvre, Orsay and Orangerie Museums, the Latin Quarter, the Sacré Cœur, Montmartre and perhaps the Moulin Rouge, the Marais […]
The Macchiaioli was, indeed, wonderful. Especially taken with the work of artists Telemaco Signorini and Silvestro Lega. Obviously, I returned to Paris at just the right time!

They were truly wonderful and so unexpected.
