I guess a stop along the way helps rather than go all the way to Australia in one go. An aunt and uncle have been over several times and tend to prefer stopping in Hawaii for a couple of days rather than make the long haul.

Yes, we used to go straight through but as we’re getting older, we appreciate the stops.
I suppose because as they used to say of New York everything you might want or is happening can be found there, added to which it’s probably the longest continually-existing city in the world. And I happen to find its population unusually amiable and interesting.
What a great discovery your blog is. A blogging friend told me about it this morning. I would love to visit India but you hear so many stories about tourists getting sick there and my husband is notorious for coming down with stomach bugs when we are travelling, so I don’t think we will ever work up the courage.

Hi Lyn and thank you! I don’t intend to get sick (the only place I’ve ever had a problem was eating seafood in Dubrovnik). We shall only eat vegetarian food and have lots of yoghurt – also only drink water out of bottles. That is what my Indian friends told me to do. No problems on the way!
Oh, Rosemary, I don’t quite envy you to be honest. After such a long and sleepless flight to end up in a semi-comfortable hotel room… not good. I was never convinced I want to see India, but after seeing your pictures from Delhi, I feel even less inclined to go there.

So glad the holiday is off to a smooth start.
The streets in your pics aren’t as busy as I had expected.
Thanks, Helen. I found the streets weren’t nearly as busy as Chennai
ah, Delhi: I think my favourite city in the world. But a little daunting at first hmm?
It was less daunting than on my first visit to India! Why is Delhi your favourite city in the world?
