I’ve enjoyed reading about your trip to Croatia as we’re planning a very similar itinerary this summer, only we’re heading as far as Montenegro too. How was the ferry from Ancona? We’re using it on the way back.

I’m glad it’s been useful. Andrea (also an Aussie) from Rear View Mirror and Destination Europe has written interesting posts about the area as well. The ferry was a pleasant trip – modern and reasonably spacious. I think we took our own food. We queued quite a bit on the Italian side though to pick up our tickets. I don’t know if it’s the same in Split. They also searched our luggage on arrival.
I’ve been following Andrea’s trip too, I love her photos on Instagram. Reading all this just makes me want to be there NOW!

Just seeing these photos confirms that I have to get to Croatia in May/June!
Then I had better write the next part soon!

I’m so looking forward to hearing about Zadar, that’s next on my list of places to see in Croatia.
